N6DA, Don, was first licensed
as WV6TQK in 1961 when he was 13. He quickly became hooked on contests when
he discovered they were an easy way to up his DXCC total. He was mentored
by world-class contesters of the San Francisco Bay area and operated at a
variety of top contest stations there. Don was also a founding member of
the Northern California Contest Club.
As a crew member on a number of ocean racing "maxi"
sailboats, he got to see what it was like operating from the other end as
WA6TQK /KH6 /FO8 /VE7 /MM2 /MM3.
Don considerers himself
"the luckiest guy in the world" and lives in Union City, California, with
his wonderful wife, Mary. Good Fun!!
